Adobe CS3 Interactive Mural

In conjunction with the launch of Adobe's CS3, this interactive mural installation was designed by Brand New School for Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco. Using some fairly sophisticated programming and tracking hardware, peoples' movements are recorded and translated into an animated mixed-media mural that reflects the creative license afforded by the new Adobe CS3 software package. From left to right, the mural evolves from simplicity to complexity as more elements are introduced.
The installation, stood at 10' X 25', debuted in July of 2007 in New York City, before appearing around the world at film festivals, media conferences, and other creative gatherings.

OK Go music video

The domino-effect music video  for U.S. band OK Go's song 'This too shall pass' has proved an internet sensation after attracting over 10 million online views.
OK Go consulted scientists from the Massachusetts Institute Of Technology, the California Insitute Of Technology and gadget firm Syyn Labs to help them achieve their objective of building 'the ultimate Rube Goldberg machine'. Goldberg was a U.S. cartoonist who specialised in creating overtly complex machinery to carry out simple day-to-day tasks. With his inspiration in mind, OK Go set out to make the promo with only one rule - that the incredibly tricky chain reaction be shot in one single take with no cuts.

PanoptICONS: Camera birds

Watch video: Camera Birds
"PanoptICONS addresses the fact that you are constantly being watched by surveillance cameras in city centres. The surveillance camera seems to have become a real pest that feeds on our privacy. To represent this, camera birds - city birds with cameras instead of heads - were placed throughout the city centre of Utrecht where they feed on our presence.
In addition, a camera bird in captivity was displayed to show the feeding process and to make the everyday breach of our privacy more personal and tangible."

Cloudscapes, Venice Biennale

TRANSSOLAR & Tetsuo Kondo Architects create Cloudscapes where visitors can experience a real cloud from below, within, and above floating in the center of the Arsenale. Visitors find a path that is akin the normal experience of walking through a garden. The path winds through Cloudscapes appearing and disappearing. The cloud is always changing so the experience of the path is also dynamic.
